About us

The Cromwell & Districts Promotion Group are proud to be the driving force behind the #LoveCromwell initiative. We love this place we call home, and that is why we have been working since 1987 to make Cromwell a great place to LIVE, PLAY, and STAY.

Carolyn Murray

Carolyn moved to Cromwell in 2014 with her husband and two young boys. After living in Japan and Australia and travelling widely, Cromwell was the top choice for settling back into NZ life... with amazing vistas, mountains and lakes all around, and a great community, the choice was simple. Oh, and then there’s the wine! Carolyn joined the Promotion Group to help share the love for our town, and to be involved in making events and great ideas for our town come to life. When not doing Promotion Group activities, you can find Carolyn at Scott Base Vineyard, where she operates the tasting room and venue.

Brigitte Tait

Deputy Chairperson

Brigitte has been living in Cromwell for ten years now, and loves the lifestyle and great community feeling of this special wee town. She has been involved with the CDPG since 2016, and loves making our fabulous events for the community and visitors to this town happen.

Marion Low

Marketing & Communications Manager

Marion chose to call Cromwell her home because of its stunning natural beauty and its true sense of community. Cromwell is a great place to raise a family, and she feels very privileged to support our town.

Jolanda Foale

Jolanda, along with her husband Richard, run their business Heliview Flights from the Cromwell Racecourse Airfield. She has been part of the Cromwell community for 6 years and been part of the Cromwell & Districts Promotion Group for nearly as long. Jolanda loves the Cromwell lifestyle and the four distinct seasons, all with their own charm. Being part of the CDPG committee allows Jolanda to be involved with the promotion of this beautiful town and surrounds as well as being involved with community events, enabling her to give back and bring joy to the people.

Kelly Cruickshank

Kelly has lived in Pisa Moorings for the last 3 years, prior to that was based in Queenstown for 12 years. She comes from a Central Otago family that is spread through-out our stunning district. As a locally-based travel specialist, Kelly loves helping Central Otago locals explore the world. With over 18 years of industry experience working in retail travel agencies, airlines and event management, she is able to assist with tours, cruises, tailor-made holidays, corporate travel, conferences & event management.

Gretchen Nightingale

Community Relationships Manager

Gretchen has been living in the region since 2009, and has been involved with the Promotion Group for the past four years. She has lived all over the world, but keeps on coming back to Cromwell. She feels this is a special place, and she is passionate about seeing our town grow and thrive.

Shona Rae

Shona operates the Cromwell Mini Golf next to the Big Fruit Reserve. She has lived near Bannockburn for 19 years. Shona has been involved with the CDPG for a number of years. She considers it a huge privilege to work alongside such an enthusiastic group of people.

Janeen Wood

Janeen is a Southlander who after working, travelling and living overseas decided to make Cromwell her home in 2006.

Janeen loves Cromwell for the hills, the big sky, the lake, the seasons – the warmth of summer and the clean cold of winter which produces our delicious fruit and wine.

She has been part of the CDPG for over 12 years because she loves sharing this place with her community and visitors.

Together with her husband, Janeen bought Central Otago Motorcycle Hire. Over summer they put many visiting motorcyclists onto the roads in the south. They also have a BnB, work for other businesses and volunteer for numerous community groups.
